Injection Molded Covers and Barriers

Injection-molded covers & barrier assemblies from Dow Automotive consist of a range of products including dashmats, engine and valve covers and other injection-molded under-the-hood barriers that have a variety of applications and benefits.

Injection-molded cabin-side barriers (dashmats) between the engine and passenger compartment prevent engine noise from intruding into the vehicle. Assembly aids and integral fasteners are designed into the part for improved sealing, better fit, ease to assemble and added mass for targeted noise control. In addition, molded in dead pedal, electrical wiring channels and pockets, assembly aids, integral fasteners and additional parts can be designed into the part, eliminating fasteners and fixtures at the assembly link which can reduce the number of parts and components.

Injection-molded under-the-hood barriers and noise shields can be applied to HVAC, transmission, timing belt and engine covers and on fenders and wheelhouses to reduce structure-borne, engine and transmission noise.
